Wimbledon Championships (2012)

June 25, 2012:

Tom Hiddleston attended the first day of the 2012 Wimbledon Championships. Tom sat in centre court with his sister, Emma, to watch Novak Djokovic defeat Juan Carlos Ferrero.

After the match, Tom visited the Evian VIP Suite where he posed with his sister, Eddie Redmayne, Jamie Campbell Bower, and Grace Jones.

Then it was time for a friendly ping-pong tournament. Where, of course, Tom Hiddleston emerged victorious.

To the winner goes the spoils.

Tom's Ping Pong skills were legendary even among The Avengers.

Tom Hiddleston gave an interview to Elle Magazine about his experience at Wimbledon:

Tom Hiddleston has opinions, opinions about Pimm's. "It has to be made with ginger ale. Controversial, but I think accurate", the Avengers Assemble star told us in Evian's suite on the first day of the championships. And furthermore: "Cucumber is essential. Slices of cucumber, fresh strawberries, lemon, mint... But if you've made fruit salad for breakfast, with bananas and kiwis, maybe don't throw them in the Pimm's."’
A lifelong tennis fan, Hiddleston watches Wimbledon championships' religiously’ every summer, even waking up early to catch important matches when he was on location in New Mexico for during last year's tournament.
"It made me really homesick. I was in the New Mexico desert, playing superheroes, and suddenly, I was longing for Wimbledon," he said. "The architecture of my life is that Wimbledon always used to be the herald of the summer, because it was the end of exams and the beginning of the school holidays, and therefore the beginning of fun."
Safely ensconced in prime Centre Court seats for 2012, Hiddleston said he was thrilled to have caught Novak Djokovic's astonishing match. "The level of his efficiency and skill just blows me away," he said. "Djokovic and Federer and Nadal are all sensational to watch because they just play with a combination of delicacy and power that's absolutely riveting."
His tips for Wimbledon neophytes include paying a visit to the bathroom before taking your seat ("It's a practical one.") and never shouting,  "Come on Roger!" when Federer has the advantage.
The success of War Horse and Avengers has led to opportunities that seem set to keep Hiddleston in work but out of the UK for some time—films on the horizon include Thor 2 and Jim Jarmusch's new Only Lovers Left Alive, filming imminently in Detroit. How does it feel to return to the home of a great British summertime ritual, on the heels of such a phenomenal year?
"It's so relaxing," he said.  "It feels, in that really reassuring way, that some things will always be the same."

Wizard World: Philadelphia (2016)

June 4-5, 2016:

Wizard World hosted a huge Marvel spectacular at their show in Philadelphia. Guests included Tom Hiddleston, Chris Hemsworth, Chris Evans, Sebastian Stan, Anthony Mackie, Hayley Atwell, Dominic Cooper, and more.

This was Tom's first Con outside of San Diego since attending New York Comic Con in 2011. Wizard World offered a much more personal fan experience since fans were able to pre-purchase autograph and photo-ops with their favorite celebrities!

The individual Tom Hiddleston VIP was $510 (the Tom VIP was $645 at ACE Arizona!). Here's a look at Tom's WW schedule. Don't be fooled by the relatively low number of events - it was packed!

Tom Hiddleston arrived to great fanfare on Saturday. His first event was a 10am autograph session where he was only able to get through about half the line and so began a very long day. I finally received my autograph (which was scheduled for 10am) around 7pm and there were still hundreds of people behind me. All the other guests had left and most of the lights were off at the Convention Center but Tom was still there signing away!

Here's our picture! The Legos were completely unplanned. I bought them at one of the booths in order for my nephew to have a way to entertain himself in the lines. He was only five at the time and at that age you don't understand what an actor is. He thought he was meeting the real Loki and Captain America. When it was our turn to go into the photo he just froze. One of the staffers was telling us to hurry along (rude) but he was just in complete awe. Chris Evans (bless him) came over and gave my nephew a huge hug! When we started our pose I noticed that my nephew was still hanging on to his Lego so I asked Tom if it was okay if I got out the Loki one too. He had the Legos out again during our autograph sessions. Tom asked my nephew which of his Legos was his favorite - and without missing a breath he shouted THE FLASH! Oh the shame!

Tom and Chris Hemsworth sat down for the Brotherly Love Q&A.

On Day 1 Tom brought back a familiar plaid shirt (tentatively confirmed to be from Zara) that has been in his wardrobe since 2012. This shirt last made an appearance at the Wheatland Music Festival in 2014.  He was also wearing his Ralph Lauren Barracuda coat, jbrand Tyler jeans, and Aquatalia Ace boots.

Day Two was slightly more relaxed.

Tom Hiddleston debuted a new shirt, the Griffin Henley from Rag and Bone - which sadly he has never worn again.

Tom enjoyed himself with the other Marvel cast members throughout the weekend.

Tom, Evans, and Hemsworth got very close to trainer, Luke Zocchi, in the photobooth. (You often see this picture photoshopped to have Sebastian Stan in place of Luke but this is the original)

Is she dead? joked Dominic Cooper after the stars finally finished out their weekend.
