Thor: The Dark World Charity Screening in NYC (2013)

Happy Halloween! Tom Hiddleston may be the God of Tricks but he had nothing but He treats for a group of lucky children in New York City. Tom surprised 300 children who had been selected to attend a charity screening of Thor: The Dark World at the AMC Empire 25 in Times Square. Disney, Marvel Studios, and the Daily News hosted the screening in benefit of Variety the Children's Charity of New York and The Children's Aid Society. 

Tom flew in to NYC specifically for the event. He told the Daily News: It's a screening organized by Variety of New York and The Children's Aid Society, two huge children's charities in New York City. Children, it sounds trite to say it, but children stand to inherit our future - their own future - and it's so important that we look after them because so many children don't have the choices that we have as adults. So, for people like Variety and for The Children's Aid Society, and for Unicef who I've done some work for. I believe very strongly in their work. I believe there are armies of people behind the scenes who do tireless work on behalf of children all over the world. So, it's nothing for me to turn up and introduce a screening for them because they do the real work. This is, I hope, in some way a nice reward or a perk or something. 

Tom addressed the crowd as his alter-ego Loki before introducing the film. He said "to see that enthusiasm, to the them clap and cheer, wearing Loki t-shirts and swinging hammers, that was really gratifying". 

Tom also took time to meet and pose for photographs with the children.

Tom Hiddleston stripped down his formal Giorgio Armani three-piece suit for a more casual look. Tom was also wearing his Nike+ sportswatch ($199).
