December 7, 2018:
Tom's visit was in support of the Christmas Stocking Appeal. This appeal encourages members of the public to send a message of hope and support to children and families at GOSH over Christmas, and to make a donation to the charity to help fund its vital work. The messages are printed onto little paper stockings which are displayed around the hospital, and featured on a digital display in the run up to Christmas to let the families at GOSH know people are thinking about them.
Below you can see Tom with one of the Appeal Stockings and well as with several of the patients including Sarah (17), Aaditya (12), and Shifa (11).
Submitting a message for the Christmas Stocking Appeal is very simple and FREE - so I expect everyone reading this to participate and fill the hospital up with love with Christmas! All you have do is visit the Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity Website and type a short message (less than 80 characters). If you need a few tips on what to write you can always scroll through some of the other messages. The messaging system will be open all the way up into Christmas Day but GOSH encourages you to get your messages in early so it can be seen by the most children. (Be warned that your message will not immediately be viewable and can take up to three days before it is shown on the website).
You are not required to make a donation in order to write a message but if you are able - please consider sending some support. GOSH conveniently allows you to donate either by credit/debit card or via paypal. You can also donate by phone at (+44) 020 3841 3131. You do not need to be a UK resident.
